Arnis, Kali, Escrima
Philippine Martial Arts in Hamburg
In Germany the Philippine martial arts are known as Arnis, Kali and Excrima. The exotic names such as Inosanto Kali, Modern Arnis or IKAEF are an indicator for the grand master, the style or the association.
The Philippine martial arts are a fighting system based on weapon training in which the techniques are bound into fluent exercises. The techniques are being trained with sticks and knifes which particularly train coordination, fast reactions and flexibility. The principles of the weapon training are being transferred into hand and foot techniques which lead to the Panatukan (Philippine boxing).
Kali is one of the most complex martial arts systems and requires a steady adjusting to new situations.
Inosanto Kali is a mix between different styles which Guro Dan Inosanto has learned. Inosanto Kali incorporates Villabrille Kali, Pekiti Tirsia, Illustrissimo Kali, Serrada Escrima as well as Largo Mano.
Guro Dan Inosanto took suitable techniques out of those different styles and combined them into a new system: Inosanto Kali. He combined the principles of Kali with the JKD-Concepts so that there are various possibilities available for the different situations.
The Zanshin Dojo is one out of only five schools in Germany which are directly liscensed by Guro Dan Inosanto to teach Inosanto Kali.
In the Zanshin Dojo Inosanto Kali is taught by Senior Associate Instructor Finn and Henning.
